Perhaps the lure of coming to the leafs may have faded for quieter hockey markets where the players can lead their lives relatively without notice |

Come home Stamkos Imagine that Florida loses Lebron to free agency then loses Stamkos to free agency. |

It's also ignoring the massive upgrade in net we have now, as well as the 'loss' of Andrew MacDonald, who made everyone he played with drastically worse. |

The fact that you guys have a second line that's a legit threat will take pressure off of JT. Opposing D won't be as to focus solely on his line anymore.
We're gonna see what he can really do this year I bet. |

... Or perhaps it's just you and your little hate boner that can't stand the idea of a player like Stamkos joining the Leafs in their prime. |

I hope so, I'd still like to see another top 4 defenseman added, but we'll see what happens over the summer. I'm just not sure how much more suck I can handle from this franchise, Snow better not just sit back and watch if things go south early next season. |

If the Leafs had a Stamkos or Tavares type player would it hurt or help the NHL as a whole? Would the League generate enough merch revenue to offset the losses in TB or NYI? Clearly the NHL is in no rush to see the Leafs as champs, the fans will always be loyal no matter how bad the team is. And let's be honest, people don't own NHL teams because they like hockey, it's an investment. |

Pot meet kettle. I sincerely doubt Stamkos comes close to FA. Once July 2015 comes, TB will do everything in their power to lock him up long term......and let's not forget the Yzerman quotient..... |

Nah, less.
Looking at Toews' and Kane's deasl that kick in July 1 2015, Stammer won't be that expensive. Both these guys are also elite players with a poop load more hardware that Stammer has.
Hopefully Stammer's definition of "home town discount" is a little different from Clarkson's and Bolland's |

If he wants to go to the leafs or just FA he will. He knows that he can get the exact same amount of money in Tampa if he waits until free agency. |
